The Swiss Alps itinerary (September 1-9, 2002) included:

  • seven days getting to know the people and folklore of Meiringen, a welcoming Swiss village
  • excursions to the glacial Rosenlaui Gorge and the Reichenbach Falls
  • exquisite scenery on a Lake Brienz boat ride

  • an excursion on the Rothorn Cogwheel Train, which climbs to the 7700 foot summit of Brienz mountain
  • a day in the lovely medieval city of Lucerne
  • opportunities to learn about Swiss farming, architecture, old crafts, and mountaineering in the Bernese Oberland
