The Canadian Rockies host a wealth of wildlife and natural phenomena, and now you can embark on an adventure in this bountiful region of North America, June 22-30, 2003. Traverse the mountain range the good, old-fasioned way--by train. From within the comfortable cabins of the "Rocky Mountaineer" you can view the lush forests and jagged mountains of Western Canada. Frequently seen animals include majestic bears, stately elk, and fuzzy marmots. Each evening you will stay in magnificent and scenic hotels, including the Renaissance Vancouver Hotel Haborside, Sawridge Hotel in Jasper, and the world-famous Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
You'll leave from Vancouver after touring the city's sights and enjoying a dinner in Gastown--Vancouver's turn-of-the century shopping district. Stops along the way include the Fraser and Thompson forests and the Icefields Parkway, where you'll survey waterfalls and snow-capped peaks before a Snocoach ride across a massive glacier. Trips to Banff and Calgary end the journey with lively and historic sights. Finally, as you fly back out over the mountains you've just crossed, you can look back and remember the wonders within the Canadian Rockies. Travel Home Page
