The Application Process

All students (even those who currently live there) who wish to live in Martin Court must submit an apartment application by the application deadline.  The apartment application must include the FULL names of each person wishing to live in the apartment.  After the application deadline, the Residence Life Office will total the lottery numbers for all of the residents of the apartment.  The applicants with the lowest lottery number totals will be those who are able to select an apartment.

The Selection Process

On the night of Apartment Selection, groups will choose apartments according to their lottery number (apartment total) order.  The group with the lowest lottery number total will select first.  In order to distribute apartments fairly evenly, apartments will be pre-marked for either women or men (mixed-gender groups will be told which type to choose).  If two groups of 4 or 5 students have the same total, the group with the lowest single individual number will select first. Students will be assigned bedrooms according to what they marked on the apartment application. Students changing rooms  after assignments are posted without notifying RLO will be charged a $50 room change fee, per person. No Martin Court room changes will be accepted before Labor Day.

NOTE: Prompt arrival is essential. See Lottery Timeline for application deadlines, selection dates, and locations.
