Stewart Boswell '78 (Year Awarded--2003) Stewart Boswell came to Davidson from Alexandria, Virginia with the same strong belief in personal motivation that he holds today. That motivation has led him to a successful career and to over two decades of service on behalf of and commitment to his beloved alma mater. Stewart Boswell |
While at Davidson Stewart distinguished himself in many areas. He competed on the men's tennis team, served on the Honor Council, participated in the Patterson Court Council and the Council for Campus and Religious Life, and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. Since graduating from Davidson, Stewart has served the college faithfully. Whether hosting a campaign event in Dallas, serving on the board of the Davidson Athletic Foundation or on the Board of Visitors, presiding over the Dallas Alumni chapter, or chairing the Class of 1978 for the Annual Fund, Stewart has invested his time and resources into Davidson with enthusiasm and initiative. College representatives who work with Stewart describe him as open-minded, organized, intelligent and refreshingly fun. He delights all who work with him. The Boswell family commitment to Davidson extends beyond Stewart. His wife Gay has served as Chair of the WDAV Advisory Board, on the fundraising committee for the new WDAV on Main Street and on the search committee for the current general manager of the radio station. Because you approach service to alma mater with the same enthusiasm and dedication that you approach all aspects of your life; because you are generous with your time and resources in a variety of ways; because you inspire others to your high standard of service and make Davidson proud to call you her own, the Davidson College Alumni Association honors you, Stewart M. Boswell, with the Alumni Service Award, on the occasion of your 25th class reunion, this fifth day of April, 2003.
