Charter and Bylaws CommitteeThe Charters and Bylaws Committee receives and proposes amendments to the Davidson College Constitution and these Bylaws. It also receives applications for charters and reports them to the Senate, with recommendations, pursuant to Article IX of the SGA Bylaws.
Trustee Contact Committee
The Trustee Contact Committee informs trustees of current college activities, while also providing personal insight into students' experiences during their four-year sojourn at Davidson. This committee also attends some functions with the trustees when they are in town.
Rides Committee
The Rides Committee works to provide transportation for students for sporting events as well as operation the Vomanos van. (Patterson Court drives the van most often, so joining the committee does not doom you to endless hours behind the wheel.)
Student/Faculty/Staff Roundtable Committee
To facilitate a discussion environment between students, faculty, and staff about current and pressing issues; whether internationally, nationally, or Davidson oriented. Typically, discussion is held over a meal that is provided by the school or by SGA.
Public Relations Committee
To inform students and faculty of upcoming SGA events such as elections, athletic events and other SGA sponsored activities. When asked by a SGA officer to publicize an event, this Committee creates, copies, and distributes fliers and other advertising materials.
Campus Building Services and Physical Plant Committee
This committee is charged to voice students' concerns regarding campus facility maintenance or renovations to Physical Plant and the Administration. This committee is currently in charge of the Red Bike Program.
Polling and Response
Polling and Response is responsible for organizing and conducting campus surveys when SGA initiates require more student input.
Town Liaison Committee
The Town Liaison committee communicates with the Davidson Town Hall and attends town hall meetings in order to foster a better relationship between Davidson students and the surrounding community.
Council on Minority Affairs
The Council on Minority Affairs reviews administrative policy and monitors progress on proposed programs and change concerning minority issues. The council make recommendations to the SGA President on various aspects of campus life.
Council on Academic Affairs/Dean of Faculty
This Council on Academic Affairs/Dean of Faculty works with the Registrar and the Dean of Faculty on proposed academic changes. The council makes recommendations to the SGA President on academic matters that directly impact students such as school calendar, general requirement, etc.
Council on Information and Technological Affairs
The Council on Information and Technological Affairs works with ITS on matters that directly impact students, such as dorm access to the World Wide Web, on-line services, Ethernet, and other telecommunication services.
SAC to the Director of RLO
Provides an opportunity for the Director of Residence Life Office to hear student opinions and concerns on a regular basis. It enables the Director of Residence Life to explain Residence Life Office policy decisions and to advise the Senate on relevant issues concerning residence life.
SAC to the Director of Campus Safety
The primary job of this committee/chair is to act as a liaison between the student body and the Campus Safety Department; to voice student concerns to Campus Safety and vice versa.
SAC to the Director of Auxiliary Services
The purpose of this committee is to present student opinions, and work to serve their interests in anything pertaining to Auxiliary Services, which includes dining (Commons, Union Cafe, Wildcat Den), laundry, and the campus bookstore.
