Alumni Service Award

William Seaborn Jones '64
(Year Awarded--1996)

The link between Atlanta and Davidson is a storied one, known to all familiar with our nation's commerce and governance. Like his friend Boyce Connell, this alumnus celebrates the ties that bind home and college, working diligently to give them vitality and visibility.

As Vice President of the National Alumni Association, Annual Fund Chair for his Class of 1964, and frequent Reunion Committee Member, Seaborn Jones has given his Class and the Alumni Association steady leadership across three decades.

But the most faithful service of this gardener, bibliophile, and inveterate fisherman has been to the alumni of Atlanta. President of the Atlanta Alumni Chapter, member of the steering committee that funded the Dean Rusk Program in International Studies, enthusiastic supporter of the Davidson Alumni Admission Program, convener of Christmas parties, commissioner of softball games, and partner with Sue McAvoy in founding the Alumni Association's first Young Alumni Chapter, Seaborn has proudly waved the Davidson banner for all to see.

Because you have delighted in your service to Davidson and encouraged others to do the same, and in recognition of your enthusiastic loyalty to alma mater, the Alumni Association gladly presents a favorite son, Seaborn Jones '64, with its Alumni Service Award.
