David Watkins Mockbee '71 (Year Awarded--1996) During his student days, his tenacious spirit manifested itself on the football field, in the classroom and in ROTC. He excelled in all that he attempted. Now that spirit is revealed in his successful law practice in Jackson, Mississippi, specializing in the construction industry. His loyalty to Davidson has been equally energetic. He has served as a Chapter President and an Annual Fund Class Chairman and Agent for eleven years. In 1993 and 1994, he chaired the Regional Campaign in Mississippi for the Campaign for Davidson. He has done everything the College has asked him to do-and that has been considerable. Because you have favored the College with your keen talent and your hard work, and because you have helped to increase Davidson's presence in Mississippi and that state's presence on this campus, the Alumni Association presents this Alumni Service Award to you, David Mockbee, on the day of your class' 25th Reunion celebration.
