Mitchell Mark Purvis '74 (Year Awarded--1996) Mitch Purvis' boundless energy and leadership qualities were evident from the day he first set foot on Davidson's campus. He served as Student Government Association Senator, junior class president and president of his fraternity, was selected Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities, and participated in several intramural sports as well. Since that time, he has built a thriving law practice and he continues to volunteer in numerous civic and professional organizations. Fortunately for Davidson, he has also devoted considerable time and energy to his alma mater. In past years he has led the Annual Fund efforts of his class, made development calls as a member of the Georgia committee of The Campaign for Davidson committee and served as president of the Atlanta Chapter of the Alumni Association. In addition, he served as vice president of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. In recent days, as a part of the Davidson Alumni Admissions Program (DAAP) team, he has turned his attention to the task of ensuring that the best and the brightest students from the Atlanta area consider Davidson in their college choices. Because of your dedicated efforts on the College's behalf and because you remind us that volunteers constitute a precious resource, the Alumni Association presents you, Mitch Purvis '74, with its Alumni Service Award.
