His warm smile greets us and we feel uplifted. His willingness to help when asked reassures us, and his consistent attendance at events on campus enhances our enjoyment.

His work on behalf of Davidson is exemplary. The Athletic Foundation capitalized on his interest and support for Davidson athletics. When the Campaign for Davidson called, he joined the regional committee in Concord, the first region to hold a kick off.

He serves on Reunion Committees and the Board of Visitors. And for years he helped the alumni office hold events in Concord. During all this time he served Davidson cheerfully, even as he handled the inevitable pressures of leading a business - the Concord Telephone Company.

Because your service meant so much to Davidson and because you have been a steadfast friend, the Alumni Association presents you, "Bub" Coltrane, its Alumni Service Award on the occasion of your class' 55th Reunion.
