Finding long-term employment overseas can be a challenging yet rewarding endeavor. PLEASE NOTE: It is very difficult to get work permits in a foreign country unless you have a specific skill that is seldom offered by a national of the host country.
A common mistake for U.S. students is that they are far too general about what they want to do; simply looking for a position in "international business" is too general. Typically, you need to work in the United States for a few years, honing your skills and learning new skills before seeking an international assignment.
A good starting point for useful information on gaining long-term international employment is the University of Michigan International Center, which will provide you with more information and links for long-term employment overseas.
