Hostelling International
Information about hostel travel throughout the world. Offers an international booking network for reservations. Lists hostels worldwide; a news feature has articles about new and refurbished hostels.

GORP (Great Outdoor Recreation Page)
Detailed information about U.S. National Parks, forests, wilderness areas, wildlife sanctuaries, and historical and archaeological sites located throughout the world. Includes information about National Parks around the world.

Worldwide Classroom Library of International Programs
A database of international education programs from throughout the world. Includes programs for all ages as well as internships, volunteer opportunities, and cultural programs. Includes information about travel, lodging, health care, and other practical matters. Offers an extensive database of programs located worldwide.

Association for International Practical Training
Offers training exchanges for U.S. and foreign students and professionals. Includes a database of opportunities for Americans to train abroad. The student exchange programs include some available to students in technical and hospitality fields.

Riley Gruide: International Job Opportunities
Provides links to listings for jobs in Europe, the Pacific Rim, South Africa, and other areas.

Idealist.org
A global directory of service opportunities. Allows you to search the web pages of nonprofit organizations, many of which have opportunities for volunteer service abroad.

InterAction: American Council for Voluntary International Action
A coalition of more than 150 nonprofit organizations offering volunteer opportunities in developing countries.

Center for Disease Control - Travel Information Page
Provides a summary of the agency's Health Information for International Travel.  Lists countries with infectious disease problems, including cholera, yellow fever, and plague. Find information about disease outbreaks in foreign countries, as well as disease prevention for U.S. travelers.

Travel Medicine
Useful background information about travel health, particularly when visiting developing countries. Recommends a travel health kit, and gives information about specific hazards, such as cholera and meningitis. Also includes advice about environmental hazards such as dealing with air pollution, altitude sickness, and motion sickness.

GoinGlobal
Information on jobs, internships and living and working abroad.  Includes information on how to get around in various countries, how to interact with various cultures, and more.
