Arts and Culture

Davidson College's mission supports the study of the arts as an important part of a liberal arts education. The college offers state-of-the-art venues for the arts, where students share the stage, gallery and performance hall with professional artists.

 

Duke Family Performance Hall
A 600-seat proscenium theatre, the Duke Family Performance Hall is housed in the Knobloch Campus Center and is the largest performing arts venue on campus
Katherine and Tom Belk Visual Arts Center
Home to both Art History and Studio Art, the Katherine and Tom Belk Visual Art Center (VAC) includes the Van Every/Smith Galleries, AV-equipped lecture hall, seminar room, and studios for art majors and faculty
Sloan Music Center
Home to the music department, Sloan Music Center includes classrooms and faculty offices, a music library, rehearsal rooms, recording studios and the performance space, Tyler-Tallman Hall
Cunningham Theatre Center
Home to the theatre department, the Cunningham Theatre Center includes performance spaces, the Barber Theatre as well as studios, a costume shop and scene shop.
Davidson College Presbyterian Church
Davidson College Presbyterian Church has a main sanctuary with seating up to 1200 as well as Lingle Chapel with seating for 150

WDAV 89.9, Classical Public Radio, is licensed to the Trustees of Davidson College and is located in the Samuel W. Newell WDAV Building
