From an academic credit perspective, Davidson accepts transfer credit from other colleges and universities provided that:

  • the college or university is approved by a regional accrediting agency;
  • each transferred course is consistent with Davidson's academic objectives; and
  • the grade earned is comparable to a Davidson grade of "C" or better.

Credit for one full academic year at another college or university is normally transferred to Davidson as eight courses. The Registrar determines the amount of credit that can be transferred to Davidson and will accept a maximum of 16 transfer courses toward graduation. The maximum number of transfer courses accepted for the major is determined by the major department.

If you have application questions, please contact Janis Beam (Application Processor) or Deborah Hogg (Senior Assistant Dean of Admission & Transfer Coordinator) via email, or call our office at 704-894-2230 or 800-768-0380.
