Lola Santamaria, Visiting Instructor of Spanish, has been at Davidson College since 2005. She was born and raised in Madrid, Spain. She has also lived in England, Italy, and Costa Rica. Previously coming to Davidson, she has taught at Wake Forest, Johns Hopkins University, and Florida Atlantic University. She was also the Resident Director in Madrid, Spain, for Kalamazoo College Study Abroad program from 2000 to 2004. She has taught Spanish 101, 102, 201 and 260 at Davidson. She has special interest in Spanish Golden Age Theater, XX and XXI century Spain and literature, and film of the post Franco years (Transición y movida). She was the Director of the Study Abroad Cadiz Summer program in 2007 and she will be in charge of the program this academic year 2008. Active participant of the "mesa de español" and the activities organized by OLAS and the Spanish Department.

 Instructor Santamaria accompanied the students on our Summer in Cadíz, Spain.
