Graphing Calculator Requirement for Calculus I and II The Mathematics Department strongly recommends a Texas Instruments TI-89 graphing calculator and associated Guidebook, for use in MAT 130 and MAT 135. According to instructor preference, a MAT 130 or MAT 135 student may be required to have a TI-89. The symbolic manipulation capability gives the TI-89 a significant advantage over TI calculators with lower model numbers. (New models are called TI-89 Titanium, though older models of TI-89 and TI-92 will do fine, as will the functionally equivalent Voyage 200 that features a larger screen and Qwerty keyboard.)
