A student must take at least one mathematics course to satisfy Davidson's Graduation Requirements. This requirement is satisfied only with credit for one of these seven courses offered by the Department of Mathematics: - MAT 110, Applications of Finite Mathematics with Computing (Fall & Spring)
- MAT 118, Exploring Mathematical Ideas (Fall & Spring)
- CSC 121, Programming and Problem Solving (Fall)
- MAT 130, Calculus I (Fall & Spring) or Calculus and Modeling I (Fall)
- MAT 135, Calculus II: Multivariable Calculus (Fall & Spring)
- MAT 137, Calculus and Modeling II (Spring)
- MAT 150, Linear Algebra and Mathematica with Applications (Fall & Spring)
Another of these courses may be used to satisfy the requirement for a third course in Natural Science or Mathematics (in addition to lab science and mathematics). Students can earn Advanced Placement credit for CSC 121 and MAT 130, or International Baccalaureate credit for CSC 121 or for MAT 110 and MAT 130. See the placement page for advice on selecting an appropriate course to satisfy the core requirement.
