Professor Stephen L. Davis received his B.A. from Lindenwood College and his Ph.D. from Rutgers University. After a postdoctoral appointment at the Ohio State University, Professor Davis joined the Department in 1981. His interests center on abstract algebra, discrete mathematics, and computer science, leading him to spend a year at Swarthmore College as a visiting computer science professor. He collaborates with Professor Bivens on new editions of the Anton-Bivens-Davis Calculus, has long assisted with the organization of the Charlotte Math Club, and serves on the AP® Calculus Test Development Committee.
