This Fellowship Award funds a minimum of 10 weeks of full-time summer research in the areas of synthetic organic and/or analytical chemistry at a student's current institution and under the guidance of a research advisor. Each of this year's five awards carries a stipend of $4,000 for the summer and a laboratory supply allowance of $1,000, for a total of $5,000.

Applicants should submit recent transcript, letter of recommendation, and 1- to 2-page research proposal written in collaboration with research advisor to Hamilton Dickson, GlaxoSmithKline R&D, 3.4215, Five Moore Drive, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709 by March 2, 2012.
