| King & Klein return for spring |
|
January 17, 2012
Welcome back to professors Richie King and Ben Klein who have come out of retirement to teach a few mathematics courses at Davidson this spring 2012.
Dr. King is teaching two sections of MAT 108 Exploring Mathematical Ideas, a course that didn't exist when he retired in 2002. The course is well-suited to Dr. King's interests in geometry, topology, problem-solving, and communicating these ideas to Davidson students.
Dr. Klein is teaching MAT 331 Complex Analysis, a course that was a stable of his repertoire before he retired in 2008. While Analysis is a specialty of Dr. Klein, he is interested in a broad spectrum of mathematics and has been very active in the MAA (Mathematical Assoc. of Amer.) and AP Calculus grading and development.
Both King and Klein have won Davidson's Hunter-Hamilton Love of Teaching Award, among other distinguished honors. Davidson College, and their students in particular, are fortunate to have these two professors back in the classroom!
