Alenda Links is Davidson College's internal networking system for alumni, students and other members of the Davidson community. Students can use Alenda Links to search for thousands of alumni connections based on members' selected geographical areas, occupational areas, employer names, job titles, graduate school programs and other fields.
NOTE: YOU WILL NEED TO FIRST MEET WITH A CAREER ADVISOR BEFORE YOU ARE GIVEN ACCESS TO ALENDA LINKS.
Steps to Register and Connect with Alumni Career Advisors on Alenda Links
- Meet with a Career Services advisor, who will then provide you with access to Alenda Links. In the meeting you will be provided with a tutorial of the system and tips on how to successfully network with alumni.
- Connect with Alenda Links community members who indicated an interest in serving as career advisors. You will see a "Yes" in their profile next to the field "Willing to Serve as a Career Advisor." Consider these alumni to be your primary advisors.
- You may also contact members who left this field "Unanswered," but know that they may not be expecting to hear from students.
- Please do not contact members who answered "No" to the advisor question.

Quick Tips for Your Next Networking Conversation
- Review the Networking Guide for sample networking questions to ask your contacts and for sample emails to send alumni.
- Know your skills, interests and goals and can articulate them.
- Have a 1 - 2 minute personal introduction prepared that succinctly describes your background and what your goals are.
- Know what it is you want to take away from the conversation with the alumni (advice on a career interest, internship leads, additional networking contacts?)
- Be polite, friendly, professional and observant of your contacts time. Always send thank you notes after meetings or conversations.
- Keep in touch. Follow up with networking contacts once a month to share how you have been progressing towards your goals and to let them know when your goals have been achieved. They will appreciate hearing from you.
