Student Activities Timeline

Below is a timeline for student organizations during the academic year including the timing of registration, chartering, recruitment, elections, recognition, etc.

Fall Semester
Late August   Activities Fair
September Community Engagement Fair
September Service Leaders Institute
September  Student Activities Resource Information Session and Event Planners Workshops
September Notice out for fall allocations for chartered organizations- ATC Fall Funding
September Sign-ups for Category I elections (filing deadline is 3rd Tuesday) (SGA First year senators and upper-class Honor Council positions)
September Category I elections (4th Monday of fall)
September ATC budget proposals and hearings for ATC (equipment requests)
September/October 1:1 consultations with chartered organizations and Student Activities Office
October ATC equipment allocation recommendation to the SGA
Two weeks for SGA to deliberate and approve the ATC recommendation 
November ATC review of organizations and budgets (5-10 minute conversation with groups)
December Patterson Court Awards Selection and Banquet
Spring Semester
January Self-Selection for Patterson Court Houses (2nd or 3rd weekend of spring semester)
February Category II elections: Filing deadline 3rd Tuesday; election 4th Monday (SGA President & VP, Union Board President & VP, CEC President, Defense Advisors, Student Solicitors, Conduct Council members, Review Board, ATC Vice-Chair (becomes Chair in fall semester), & CCRL reps.
February/March 1:1 consultations with chartered organizations and Student Activities Office
February/March Category III elections: Monday before Spring Break, sign-ups the prior Tuesday. (Class senators)
March Re-chartering and charter level determination for all chartered organizations: first two weeks following Spring Break. Re-registration and renewal of advisor contracts required.
March Category IV elections: Elections are the third Monday following Spring Break, sign-up the previous Tuesday (DCB & Independent Senators)
March ATC Budget Workshop in mid-March; required for presidents and treasurers of all chartered organizations.
April Organization budgets for the following academic year due to the ATC. (Typically April 1)
April ATC hearings on budget requests
April ATC recommended allocations submitted to the SGA. The final vote on the budget is the following week 
April Celebration of Service
