Steven Hummel is a music major from Charlotte, NC. While he has always been interested in music, he did not begin playing piano or studying music formally until college. In addition to his studies, Steven works with Dr. Neil Lerner as his research and editorial assistant for the American Music academic journal, of which Dr. Lerner is the editor. Moreover, Steven serves as the music director of WALT, Davidson's student-run radio station, and writes a biweekly music column for The Davidsonian.
