Sponsors usually require more than one copy of the proposal. The Grants Office provides the required number of copies plus a file copy for the principal investigator or project director. The Grants Office will absorb mailing costs when proposals are sent via the U.S. postal system or via Federal Express Express Saver. Mail that must be sent overnight express will be billed to the department or to the principal investigator or project director. Please note that express carriers are subject to equipment failures and weather delays and therefore do not guarantee on-time delivery. In some remote locations or small cities, overnight delivery service may not be available.

When time constraints dictate, the principal investigator or project director will be responsible for mailing the proposal.
