Course Planning

When planning your courses, remember that the following 10 courses are required to fulfill the requirements for a psychology major:

  • 101
  • 310
  • One methods course from Cognitive/Neuroscience areas
  • One methods course from Developmental/Clinical or Social-I/O areas
  • At least one seminar
  • 4 electives, any columns (can include seminars, tutorials, practica)
  • One capstone (400, 401, 402)

In addition, you must meet the major distribution requirement. This means you must take at least one course from each of the three major areas of psychology: 1) cognitive and neuroscience, 2) clinical and developmental, 3) social and I/O. Seminars do not count towards your major distribution requirment. A third methods course is required to be eligible to be considered for Honors.
