George is a junior music major from Atlanta, GA. His interest in music began early, as he studied piano under Juilliard graduate Keiko Ransom from ages 5-12 in Atlanta. By the time George reached high school, he earned the position of section leader on cello, bass and percussion while in high school orchestra.
Yet, by the very beginning of high school, George shifted his focus to jazz and blues guitar. He learned guitar under
Vision Music founder and owner, Winston MacFarlane, and has been primarily studying guitar ever since.
At Davidson, George concentrates on Jazz guitar and plays in several bands with styles ranging from jazz to funk to blues and R&B. He composes music and focuses his guitar playing on improvisation and soloing. He is also currently a guitar teacher at Music n More in Mooresville, NC.
Outside of his musical interest, George is a skilled soccer player. He was the MVP and leading scorer of his high school team for two years and competed in the first ever US Soccer Development Academy Finals in Los Angeles with the Concorde Fire Soccer Club. At Davidson, he played for two years on the Varsity Soccer Team before deciding to take a step back and focus more completely on music.
