The largest charity gala of the year at Davidson College, "Bosom Buddies," will be held on Saturday evening, March 12, in the Lilly Gallery of Chambers Building. Tickets for the event, which benefits breast cancer research, are $50 for individuals, $400 for eight person tables, $450 for nine person tables, and $500 for VIP tables. The event includes a keynote speaker, catered dinner and drinks, and a silent and live auction. Information about tickets and auction items can be found by emailing connorbosombuddies@gmail.com or visiting http://sites.google.com/site/connorbosombuddies/ The event is sponsored annually by Davidson's Connor Eating House, and all 159 members will be involved. Proceeds benefit "Friends for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test" (Friends), the only non-profit in the country focused on funding research for an earlier biological detection test for breast cancer. One in eight women will experience some form of breast cancer at some point, and current technology allows some cancers to develop for up to eight years before being detected. The Bosom Buddies gala raised more than $50,000 last year, and more than $150,000 in the past five years. In honor of the passion and dedication of Connor House, Friends recently funded a $40,000 research grant in Connor House's name.
