Get Involved
While community involvement and service are principles practiced across campus, the Center for Civic Engagement is the hub for direct service, social justice and advocacy efforts.
Civic Engagement Programs for First Year Students
The Center for Civic Engagement provides an introduction to service and community involvement through a variety of programs including Summer Service Odyssey, the Orientation Service Walk and the Community Involvement Fair.
Bonner Scholars Program
The Bonner Scholars Program is a four year scholarship program that centers on a strong team of students working to bring about positive community change through service, research and action.
Fellowships & Community-Based Internships
Many opportunities exist for serving in the Davidson community this summer and Center staff are also available to support you as you search for other summer or year-long opportunities.

In addition to local service opportunities, the Center for Civic Engagement provides support for direct service experiences throughout the United States and abroad.
Service Leadership
Organizing around social change provides students with an incredible opportunity to assume leadership roles. Many opportunities exist both on and off campus for students to take on such positions.
Federal Community Service Work-Study Program
The Federal Community Service Work-Study Program allows students who have applied for need-based aid and are eligible for work-study the opportunity to fulfill their work-study commitment by serving with a local non-profit organization.
