The sophomore recipient of the 2010 Goodwin-Exxon Award is from Charlotte. She is known by her friends as a warm and caring person who consistently provides deep insight into pressing social issues. She has a high emotional intelligence and is able to feel out a situation, determine a plan of action, inspire others to follow and get things done.
In all of her many undertakings, she acts with the upmost integrity. She's passionate about education and was a Freedom Schools Intern last summer. In that program, one of which she also participated as a youth while living in the area, she mobilized other staff to create Black History programming at the end of the summer.
She is a Bonner Scholar and has taken on leadership roles within the program, as well as in other organizations including BSC.
It is for these attributes and many others; it is for your character, personality and spirit that inspires others to follow, that we honor you and celebrate you as the 2010 sophomore recipient of the Goodwin Exxon Award.
