Calvert P. Benedict, Major General (Retired), United States Army, congratulates the newly commissioned 2^nd Lieutenants at the Commissioning Ceremony on May 15, 2010. In remarks as the honorary guest speaker, Benedict said, "You will do many different things in the United States Army" and also sincerely thanked those being commissioned and those who would be commissioned from the program for their service to the Army, especially in this time of war. General Benedict administered the oath of office to Second Lieutenant Robert Mudano, Second Lieutenant Benjamin Bashinski and to his own grandson, Second Lieutenant Kirk Benedict. The newly commissioned officers graduated from Davidson College on Sunday, May 16 with over 400 of their classmates.
