The CIS Major

A major in the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies must be true to the mission of Davidson College to provide a liberal arts education. The major must be one that can be supported by Davidson College courses and the Davidson College faculty.

A Center major consists of ten courses, at least five of which must be at or above the 300 level, plus the two fall and spring thesis courses, CIS 495 and 496.

College policy on minors, concentrations, and double majors applies to CIS majors, though a second major alongside a CIS major is strongly discouraged.
