It has been an honor to serve as your Alumni Trustee for the past two years and to participate in the college's strategic planning process and facilities master planning. During this challenging economic period, I served on the trustee audit and budget committee, which reviews the college's current and forecasted financial position. I learned that the college is staffed by thoughtful and dedicated faculty and staff, united in the mission to provide our students with a unique and high-quality education. These experiences have deepened my commitment to Davidson and increased my desire to continue to serve this institution.
Davidson has an established reputation for success, and the future must build upon this history while constantly striving for a higher level of excellence. I support the trustees' visionary decision to create The Davidson Trust, so students can make the decision to attend Davidson knowing that the college will meet their demonstrated financial need without burdening them with loans. I am eager to perpetuate that kind of vision to ensure the Davidson legacy for past, present, and future generations.
Davidson instills in each of us a curiosity for knowledge and a sense of honor and integrity. These values provide a foundation for my local volunteer work and a desire to serve a broader community as a trustee of Davidson. I am humbled and gratified by the opportunity to represent the alumni of this college.
