Trustees Approve Master Plan

At the Board of Trustees meeting earlier this month, the Board approved a master plan (pdf) for the campus. Developed over the course of 10 months by a committee made up of students, faculty, staff, trustees and consultants from Shepley Bulfinch, this document translates the objectives of the strategic plan into a master plan for Davidson's campus.

Davidson's master plan is meant to function as a general road map for the college's physical development, rather than a fixed articulation of what our campus will look like 10 years from now. (For example, the master plan outlines where new buildings might be sited; the plan does not attempt to show what the buildings might look like.) As the college's needs evolve, projects outlined in the plan will change. All construction projects will continue to go through the normal approval and development process, and most projects are dependent on the college's ability to raise funds to support construction and maintenance.
