The term Artificial Intelligence is often used when describing the potential for computers to perform tasks better and faster than their designers. Unfortunately, attempts by popular culture to connect the term with the realities of the field are rare.
In this talk, we will discuss the types of problems Artificial Intelligence tries to solve and the current state of Artificial Intelligence research. There will be an emphasis on where we as mathematicians fit into this Computer Science field.
We will gather in Mathematics Hall at 3:45 PM for our traditional light snacks.
