College Archivist Jan Blodgett and Vail Professor of History Ralph Levering have published the book 'One Town, Many Voices: A History of Davidson North Carolina.' The book covers the evolution of both town and college from just prior to the college's founding in 1837 to the modern day.

Davidson College psychology department faculty members Mark Smith and Scott Tonidandel have recently received a $1.38 million five-year grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse to explore the social influences that determine cocaine use.
April 06 Board of Trustees Constitutes Committee on Church-Relatedness
Over the course of Davidson College’s history, the Board of Trustees has periodically reviewed the college’s religious heritage, the college’s relationship to the Presbyterian Church, and the meaning that the college draws from that relationship. Most recently, questions about church-relatedness were important parts of the discussion during the 2010-11 presidential search. The Board of Trustees decided at that time to review this aspect of college life and committed to beginning that review during the first year after the installation of the new president.
March 29 Spring Break Trip Abroad To Holocaust Sites Sharpens Students' Historical Research Skills
During Davidson's spring break, two faculty members led twelve students to Germany and Poland to conduct intensive research for their course, "The Holocaust: Interpretation, Memory and Representation." Generous grants allowed members of the class and Associate Professor of History Thomas Pegelow Kaplan and Dana Professor of German and Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies Scott Denham to make the trip free of charge.
