Jared Smith was an English and Music double major from Durham, North Carolina. He studied voice at Davidson with Artist Associate Diane Thornton, and participated in such activities as Davidson College Chorale, Opera Workshop, and foreign language diction classes. He entered Davidson as a strong bass II -- now he can be described as a lyric baritone.
When not hibernating in the Sloan Music Building, Jared participated heavily in the Davidson community. He served as the Davidson College Community Outreach Intern, working closely with the Lake Norman Community Development Council. He also represented the Davidson College campus to the national Corella and Bertram F. Bonner Foundation, served on the Engage for Change Steering Committee, and vice-chaired the Bonner Community Fund Service Grant.
Outside of his Davidson responsibilities, Jared always enjoyed reading and cooking -- his favorite chef personality is Paula Deen. After graduation, Jared plans to attend law school.
