19th-century Polish composer and pianist Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin has long been regarded as a preeminent figure in the Romantic movement. His numerous piano compositions are best known for their combination of an inventive and expressive style with an unsurpassed understanding of technique.
In celebration of the bicentennial of Chopin's birth, Artist Associate Cynthia Lawing will perform selected works written for the piano. She will be assisted by pianist Gloria Cook.
