Nationally syndicated columnist Thomas Friedman will discuss environmental issues in a lecture titled "Hot, Flat and Crowded--An Update." Friedman has won three Pulitzer Prizes and is the number one best-selling author of the recent book Hot, Flat and Crowded. His other best-selling works include The World Is Flat, From Beirut to Jerusalem, The Lexus and the Olive Tree, and Longitudes and Attitudes.
His journalistic experience includes reporting on the Middle East conflict, the end of the Cold War, U.S. domestic politics and foreign policy, international economics, and the worldwide impact of the terrorist threat. Friedman's foreign affairs column in The New York Times is syndicated for more than 100 newspapers worldwide, and he was named one of America's Best Leaders by U.S. News & World Report.
A book signing will follow the lecture. A limited number of tickets will be available at the ticket office beginning an hour prior to the talk. Tickets are not available by phone or online.
