There are two student groups on campus, Changing Minds and Students for New Learning (SNL), that address issues related to learning and mental health. Both groups were founded and are currently maintianed by students at Davidson College.
Changing Minds - Students who have experienced mental health issues (e.g., depression, anxiety, ADHD, etc.) desire to raise awareness of how these issues impact an individual's life. Members of Changing Minds seek to provide information and support to students who struggle with mental health issues. In addition, students of Changing Minds desire to educate and inform the greater college community about topics that directly affect the college-aged population.
Students for New Learning (SNL) - Members of SNL recognize that students with learning disorders possess strong leadership qualities, both in and outside of the classroom. As such, their desire is to provide peer support as a means to empower students to reach their potential and subsequently enter into the leadership roles they were called to embrace here at Davidson College.
