Math Coffee: "A MAGIC Summer" Mark Trawick ‘10

When: October 22, 2009   6:45 pm -  7:45 pm

Where:  Chambers 3155 ,   Chambers Building

Ticket Required: No

I will talk about the Java open source software MAGIC Tool and my experience developing it this summer at Davidson. MAGIC Tool (MicroArray Genome Imaging and Clustering) is used to analyze gene expression and as a teaching tool for genomics. This talk will discuss the new features I added, including a blue/orange color scheme, more search options, and a check for updates feature. I will also discuss things I learned about working with a large program developed by many different people, and miscellaneous other things I learned while working at Davidson this summer.

We will gather in Mathematics Hall at 6:30 PM for our traditional light snacks.
