TEACH FOR AMERICA is the national corps of outstanding recent college graduates of all backgrounds and academic majors who commit two years to teach in urban and rural public schools and who become lifelong leaders in the effort to expand opportunity for children. Each year, Teach For America selects a corps of approximately 2,000 individuals, provides them extensive training during summer institutes, places them as full-time, paid teachers in public schools, and coordinates an ongoing network to support them during their two years as teachers and beyond.

As a Teach For America corps member, you will:
* Assume a tremendous leadership role and overcome immense challenges to make an immediate impact on the lives of low-income children.
* Gain the insight, credibility, and network to effect meaningful long-term change.
* Acquire concrete skills that will position you for success regardless of the profession you ultimately pursue.
