During the summer I interned with MTV, specifically working with College Publisher and RateMyProfessors.com. Come hear about the number of different applications of computer science and math that I used during this internship. The unique challenges of combining computer knowledge, new media and of course mathematical concepts has interesting applications in a number of different fields. Issues which were raised included dealing with server space and use of pipes for websites with more than 5 million unique users a month, working to maintaining a supportive base with more than 600 colleges and schools with administrative access, and how best to use new media sources to generate revenue for school newspapers.
We will gather in Math Hall at 6:30 PM for our traditional light snacks.
