Emily Clarkson has demonstrated significant intellectual curiosity, dedication to research, and a nuanced sociological imagination. Her thesis research, "Copy Cats or Constructionists? Boys' and Girls' Formation of Gendered Identities Through Play," analyzes how parents, teachers and peers contribute to the development of children's gendered play practices and how kids use the practices to build social connections and a sense of belonging.
Jessica Taft Awarded Research Grant
