The default settings in Windows will let you connect to the Davidson network. If your connection does not work initially, your settings may have been changed by a previous network connection or by the computer vendor. Use the following steps to get your settings back to normal.
- Click Start and then Connect To. At the bottom of this window, click on Open Network and Sharing Center.
- On the left, choose Manage Network Connections.
- Right-click on Local Area Connection and then choose Properties.
- In the list, double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). Check both "Obtain..." buttons and then click OK and then Close.
- If you are using Internet Explorer, go to Tools, then Internet Options. In the Connections tab select LAN Settings. Only the first option, "Automatically detect settings," should be checked.
