Pap Ndiaye

Pap Ndiaye, author of La Condition noire (Calmann-Lévy, 2007), will speak from an historical and sociological perspective on the condition of blacks as an "invisible" minority in France. Since the French Revolution, governmental policy has denied official recognition of ethnic and racial minorities in French society. Ndiaye will examine this policy and the need for a new consideration of Blacks in France.

Cosponsored by the French Department and the Dean Rusk International Studies Program.
