College Laundry Service
One of the most unique services provided by Davidson is full laundry service through the Lula Bell Houston Laundry on campus. This service is provided at no additional charge to students. To check out all of the services provided by the Lula Bell Houston Laundry, just click on the link.
Student Self-Service Laundry
Davidson College also has several laundry options for those students who prefer to wash their own clothes. A 24/7 laundromat is available in the back of the Lula Bell Houston Laundry - there are 16 washers and 16 dryers as well as 2 extra-large capacity washers and dryers for large items like comforters. As in all of the self-service laundry areas, these machines are free for student use. (Note that quarters are required, however, for the large capacity machines).
Students access the Laundromat through a dedicated entrance on the east side of the building in the alley between the central laundry and the Building Services facility. This laundry is equipped with wireless internet as well as 3 computer stations. Television, food, detergent vending and lounge furniture are available for students. Students can also check on the status and availability of machines at any time on-line by going to www.laundryview.com. This site displays the laundromat and indicates which machines are in operation and how many minutes remain in their current cycle. You can start a load, walk 50 yards to the Belk Lab and check in on your clothes at any point! Tired of lugging clothes to a laundry room only to find all the machines in use? Never again with Laundry View!!
In addition to the main laundromat, students may use the washers and dryers available in Armfield, Ryburn, Tomlinson, Akers, and the New Hall. Any clothing left in these laundry rooms will be collected weekly and will be held for a limited time before being donated to charity.
