I do not need the school's health insurance. How do I waive the insurance and what is the waiver deadline? All students studying on campus have been billed a $399.00 premium for coverage from August 15, 2009 to August 15, 2010. (Please note: students studying abroad have NOT been charged for the health insurance and do NOT need to complete the waiver.) If the student is covered by another plan and you do not wish to have supplemental coverage, please go to: www.collegeinsurance.com and Select Student /Parent Access, then select Davidson College. Locate and choose the waiver information link in the middle of the page. Complete the requested fields, and submit the waiver. This waiver must be completed and submitted no later than August 15, 2009, as the College must pay insurance premiums in August. If you have been charged for insurance and have provided the waiver information, please deduct the $399.00 from your Total Due.
Am I required to have a minimum meal plan? All first-year students are required to have the 19-meal plan for the fall semester. Continuing students who pre-selected their meal plans have been billed for this charge. If no meal plan charge appears on your statement and you desire to have a meal plan, please contact Cat Card Services at (704) 894-2952 and add the applicable amount to the total due.
What is the difference between Authorized Financial Aid and Memo Credits? Authorized Financial Aid is aid being disbursed by the school. Memo credits are items that are expected to be received from another source (ex: Pell Grant, Loans and ECSI payments) and disbursed by the school. Both items reflect a reduction of the Total Due.
I am receiving a grant or scholarship from an outside source and do not see this listed on my bill. To what address should my outside source send payment and may I subtract this from my Total Due? Yes, you may subtract anticipated payments from outside sources from your Total Due unless you are receiving need-based financial aid. If you are receiving need-based financial aid, you must check with the Financial Aid Office, before subtracting the anticipated outside sources, to determine if your financial aid package will be adjusted. How do I register my vehicle? Do I have to register my vehicle if I am living off campus? Any student who intends to park on campus should register their vehicle. Please register your vehicle online at: http://www2.davidson.edu/studentlife/support/safety_vehreg.asp and add $50.00 to the Total Due. Your parking decal will be in your campus mailbox when you arrive on campus.
Does Davidson offer a monthly payment plan? Yes. Davidson's authorized payment plan provider is Educational Computer Systems, Inc. There is a $40.00 application fee to enroll in the plan and all payments are interest-free if payments are made on time. To obtain more information or sign up for a plan, go to: www.ecsi.net. Select Apply for a Tuition Payment Plan then choose Davidson College from the list of participating schools. The deadline to enroll is August 15, 2009.
