CMS 6.0 Upgrade Update: Email and Publish

During the upgrade to 6.0, we moved to a more refined workflow, one that uses global rules for all users. There are two issues that need to be addressed.

Emails

There is a bug that was undiscovered in testing in utilizing this global workflow. The bug prevents the email notifications from filtering to go to only those users in a specific area group, like German or Career Services.

In order to prevent unnecessary inbox clutter, we have turned this off temporarily while we have engaged with the vendor to resolve this issue. We are aware this is critical for the CM's to know when they need to review and publish content.

During the interim there are two steps that can be taken.

  1. CU's - please let your CM know when you have content that needs to be published.
  2. CM's can check their "Assignments" tab in the CMS to see what content has been advanced to them for review or publish.

We are working towards resolving this as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Publish

There is an additional step for Content Managers in the publishing process. We are recommending to Ingeniux that this additional step be resolved in an upcoming release, to reduce the burden on users.

When advancing the page to publish, you must now "assign" the page to someone for the page to complete the workflow process.

To Publish:

Advance the page to CM (choose yourself from the list)
Advance to Publish Page (allowed transition to Publish Page) - Choose Advance
Select a User - please choose "unassigned" and choose ok.
Your page has then been submitted for Publish.

Thank you for your patience while we work through these issues.
