The members of the department are proud of the students we mentor. Our students have been very successful presenting their research to professional audiences. Below are some examples of recent research projects:
2009 Social Sciences Poster Fair
The Social Sciences Poster Fair provides students from the departments of Anthropology, Economics, History, Political Science, Sociology, as well as the Center for Disciplinary Studies and the Kemp Scholars to present their research to a broad Davidson and community audience. The student poster fair is held at the end of the Spring semester and features original research, with the students present to explain their work and answer questions. Davidson College Runner-Up in 2008 Charlotte Fed Challenge
The Economics Department congratulates the Davidson College Fed Challenge team on their second-place finish in the 2008 Charlotte Fed Challenge competition. The team included John Anderson '09, Joe Clark '09, and Christoph Pross '10, and John Watkins ‘09 (from left). Davidson College had not previously competed in the contest.

Participants were charged with the task of recommending a target federal funds rate based on current and prospective economic conditions and recent systemic challenges in the financial markets. The team's presentation can be viewed here.
