Jessie Brown '01 has been offered the German position at Charlotte Latin School and will be closer to Davidson again. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Simone Müller, exchange student from Würzburg '04-05, on receiving a summer research internship at the Institut für Zeitgeschichte in Munich. Likewise congratulations to Cornelia Jeske, exchange student '00-01, who will be a visiting Ph.D. student in the History Department at Harvard during '05-'06.

Congratulations to Rachel Heidmann '08 for being awarded the Virginia and Dean Rusk Scholarship. Rachel will research the history of Hermannsburg Mission School in Germany this summer.

Congratulations! Scott Denham has been appointed Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, effective fall '05. Scott will continue to teach three courses a year in the German Department.

Kudos to Carrie Saxton '05 who has accepted a full scholarship from Washington University in St. Louis. She will enter the Ph.D. program in German this fall.

Congratulations to Lukas Adams, Würzburg exchange student in '03-04, who received a full scholarship from Rutgers University to earn his Ph.D. in German. At Rutgers, he will join Jennifer Miller '98, who just won three outside grants, incl. a DAAD dissertation research grant, to assist her historical research in Turkey and Germany.

Ted Dawson '06 has been selected from among 70 of the most promising undergraduate students in the country for the 2005 Graduate School Experience at the University of Pennsylvania. Congratulations!

Burkhard Henke was elected Vice President of the NCAATG, to succeed as President in 2007.
