Diane Titus-Allen Waller ’89
The Alumni Service Award is presented to alumni and other friends of Davidson College who have rendered and performed a high degree of service to the institution. Today we are honored to recognize Diana Titus-Allen Waller of the Class of 1989.
Diana Titus-Allen Waller has truly led a life of leadership and service. This mother of three has spent years helping others achieve their goals and become better connected with their communities, while motivating them to live life to the fullest.
That’s no surprise to her friends and classmates, who remember Diana as a whirlwind of energy, her smile brightening the cloudiest of days. She seemed to be a permanent fixture in the College Union, bringing people together and encouraging them to enjoy their days—and nights—on the Davidson campus. For her hard work and contributions to the Union Board, Diana earned the coveted C. Shaw Smith Award for dedicated service to the College Union. She also was a member of Warner Hall and was named in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Diana’s commitment to her classmates and to alma mater did not wane once she left this great place. She wholeheartedly embraced the mission of the Davidson Alumni Admission Program, getting involved in the Washington, DC, chapter almost immediately after graduation, and eventually chairing the group. She also volunteered as a Class Chair for the Annual Fund, motivating the Class of 1989’s participation in 1999 to what was then an all-time high for a young alumni class. In fact, the Class of 1989 remained connected after graduation, thanks greatly to Diana’s terrific work as Class Secretary for ten years.
For her non-stop passion for motivating and uniting her class, for her endless loyalty to the Davidson red-and-black, and for her tireless energy and enthusiasm for making the world a happier place, the Davidson College Alumni Association honors Diana Titus-Allen Waller with the Alumni Service Award on the occasion of her 20th Reunion, this 25th day of April, 2009.
